Ah Paris, Paris!
Nem passou um ano completo (mais precisamente, só passaram 11 meses) desde que
tive o melhor verão nesta cidade de sonho. Indo pela segunda vez, fez-me vê-la
com outros olhos. Não com olhos de turista que só vêm o monumentos como algo para
riscar da sua lista, mas com olhos de locais, permitindo-me observar com mais
atenção as pessoas que lá vão, as suas reacções e comportamentos, a vida local
e a atmosfera de cada arrondissement.
[EN]: Ah Paris, Paris! It hasn't been a full year yet (precisely, it has only been 11 months) that I've had the most wonderful summer in this dreamy city. Going the second time, made me look at it with different eyes. Not tourist eyes that only see the monuments as a place to cross out of their to-do list, but with local eyes, allowing me to watch closely the people that come here, their reactions and behaviors, the local life and the atmosphere in each arrondissement.
O meu voo chegou ao aeroporto de Charles de Gaulle ao minuto, infelizmente quase que perdi 1 hora e meio entre passar o controlo de fronteiras e comprar o passe navigo (€26,5 para andar de metro e comboios RER durante uma semana inteira). Por isso, este primeiro dia foi na verdade metade...
Sendo que no ano passado eu já tinha visto a maioria dos sítios mais importantes em Paris (e uns outros), desta vez quis explorar outras áreas que ainda não tinha. Uma vez chegada à Gare du Nord e instalada no estúdio que tinha alugado pelo Airbnb, lá fomos nós à descoberta do primeiro destino: Canal St. Martin. Apesar de nunca ter estado em Amsterdão, pela fotografias que vejo dessa cidade, este canal assemelhava-se muito ao cenário holandês. Diz-se ser um dos bairros mais cool pela sua atmosfera boémia, boutiques modernas e cafés de ingleses (ou seja, não os tradicionais parisienses).

My flight arrived at CGD airport on time, unfortunately I lost almost 1 hour and a half in between border control and buying the navigo pass (€26,5 to ride on metros and trains RER for a whole week). So this first day was actually half a day...
Since last year I had covered pretty much the most important things to check out in Paris (and some more), this time I wanted to explore the other areas I hadn't already. After arriving at Gare du Nord and settling in the Airbnb studio I rented, off we went to our firts destination: Canal St. Martin. Although I haven't been in Amsterdam, from the pictures I've seen, this was quite a similar scenario. It is said to be one of the coolest neighborhoods, for having that bohemian vibe, modern boutiques and english-owner cafés (meaning, not the traditional parisian ones).

O look que quis usar ajustou-se com o quartier, descontraído e comtemporâneo com a t-shirt clássica e as mom jeans da Levi's e o meu casaco de cabedal vintage.
The look I was going for was exactly to fit in with this quartier, a relaxed but trendy outfit with the classic Levi's tee and my favorite mom jeans with a vintage leather jacket.
O seguinte na nossa lista era subir (os 284 degraus) até ao topo do Arco do Triunfo (até aos 25 anos, é grátis). E antes de começar a chover torrencialmente, pudemos ver a vista mais deslumbrante desta cidade mágica. Vimos um arco-íris debruçando-se sobre a Sacré-Cœur, a interminável avenida dos Champs-Élysées e a incrível Torre Eiffel.
Next thing on our list was to climb (the 284 steps) to the top of the Arch of Triumph (under 25 years old, it is free). And before it started pouring, we got to see the most breathtaking view from above of this magical city. We saw a rainbow laying over Sacré-Cœur, the endless avenue of Champs-Élysées and the incredible Eiffel Tower.
A noite acabou pelos jardins do Trocadero, onde vimos a Torre acender e brilhar para os milhares de fãs portugueses que viam o jogo no lado dos Champs de Mars e as dezenas de outras pessoas que estavam neste lado. Foi um dia perfeito.
The night ended up at the Trocadero gardens, where we saw the Tower light up and shine to all of the thousands of Portuguese fans watching the game on the Champs de Mars and other hundreds of people who were on this side. It was a perfect day.
