Flawless Skin | Inglot

Há já bastante tempo que tenho adiado o facto de ter de comprar uma base verdadeira. Tenho-me sempre inclinado em usar os BB creams que uniformizam o meu tom de pele e são fáceis de aplicar. Mas como me sinto cada vez mais dentro deste mundo da beleza, sinto a necessidade de o acompanhar mais de perto.

E foi por isso que quando vi a nova loja da INGLOT no Colombo, corri para a maquilhadora da loja e pedi ajuda, acabando por sair da loja sem paredes com dois produtos.

[EN]: For a long time that I've been pushing back on the fact that I needed to buy a real foundation. I've always been keen on using BB creams that color correct my skin tone and are easy to apply. But as I get deeper into this beauty world, I feel the need to follow up on it.

That's why, when I saw INGLOT store open at the nearest and biggest shopping center in Lisbon, I went up to the makeup artist and ask for her advice, leaving the wall-less store with two products.

A maquilhadora experimentou algumas bases em mim para acertar mesmo no meu tom de pele (pontos extra para o serviço!), já que esse era o meu grande problema, e descobriu que a gama AMC (Advanced Makeup Components) e a linha de produtos para peles secas era ideal para mim.

Há uma série de tonalidades:

- as tonalidades amarelas com nuances de azeitona: LW - 'Light Warm'; MW - 'Medium Warm'; DW - 'Dark Warm';

- e as tonalidades mais frias com nuances de cor-de-rosa: LC - 'Light Cool'; MC -'Medium Cool';DC - 'Dark Cool'.

Como sou branquinha no inverno, escolhi as tonalidades frias acabando por levar o LC100. 

Gostei muito da fórmula por ser fácil de se aplicar (especialmente com uma esponja húmida), por ter uma cobertura média a total (apenas com um pump, cobre toda a superfície da cara e dá um ar muito natural, como uma segunda pele) e por não ter um acabamento totalmente matte, mas sim iluminado (apesar de muitas vezes passar um pó translúcido para dar aquele efeito de boneca de porcelana).

She tried a few liquid foundations on me to really match my skin tone (points for service!), which I pointed out to be my main problem, and found that the AMC (Advanced Makeup Components) range with the dry skin product line was perfect for me.

There are quite a good amount of shades: 

- the yellow-based tones with olive undertones: LW - 'Light Warm'; MW - 'Medium Warm'; DW - 'Dark Warm'; 

- and the cooler tones with pink undertones: LC - 'Light Cool'; MC -'Medium Cool';DC - 'Dark Cool'.

As I can be on the fair side on Winter, I went for the cooler shades, ending up with the LC100.

I really like the formula, very blendable (especially with a damp sponge), with a medium to buildable coverage (one pump is enough for that natural, skin-like coverage) and a not totally matte yet illuminated finishing touch (though I try to get that porcelain doll look by brushing with a matte powder).

O segundo produto foi um bronzer. Apesar de me ter sido "impingido" por estar a €9 em vez de €19, eu, na verdade, até estava a precisar de um de qualidade.

É um tom de terra rosada, com um pigmento médio, perfeito para contornar as maçãs do rosto e até substituir o blush. Dá a definição perfeita à cara sem exagerar (claro que se se puser demasiado produto no pincel, acaba-se com uma mancha castanha na cara, por isso, não te esqueças de retirar o excesso).

The second product I brought home was a bronzer. Although it was 'enforced' on me, mainly because it was at €9 instead of its full price (€19), I was kind of yearning for one of quality.

It's an earthy tone (45), with a medium pigment, perfect for sculpting and contouring the cheekbones and even to substitute blush. It gives the perfect depth to the face without exaggeration (of course, if you put a lot of product in your brush, it'll come out as a brown smudge on your face, so, tap it away).

E estes foram os produtos que substituí pelos novos da Inglot: a base universal hidratante da KIKO, que é um BB cream de preço muito acessível, mas não é de todo o meu tom; e o kit de contorno/iluminador da MAYBELLINE (tom claro) que não tem pigmento quase nenhum (só ao fim de passar 3 vezes o pincel com muito produto é que se nota o contorno a se formar).

These were the products I replaced with these new Inglot ones: KIKO Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation which is a very accessible BB cream, but not at all my skin tone; and MAYBELLINE Master Sculpt (light shade) which is hard to get its pigment off of it (only after hard brushing with a lot of product is when you start to notice the contour).

Se calhar já me viram com este look pelo Instagram (segue-me @inesserodio95), e por terem gostado tanto, decidi trazê-lo aqui para o blog.

Não há assim muito para dizer, só que é um look branco e preto. É um look de meia estação, que já não se quer usar calças pretas e trocam-se por um par de calças frescas e brancas, mas, ao mesmo tempo, conjuga-se com o casaco de cabedal reto de sempre que fica bem com tudo e aquece.

O chapéu completa o look, e previne o cabelo de ficar frisado por causa dos aguaceiros primaveris.

As fotografias foram tiradas no Elevador da Santa Justa. Uma atração turística que os locais não apreciam o suficiente. A vista lá de cima é lindíssima, podendo-se ver a baixa Lisboeta em todo o seu esplendor. As casinhas pequenas, a praça do Rossio e até o Castelo de São Jorge!

[EN]: You might have seen me wear this outfit on Instagram before (follow me @inesserodio95), and as it was such a hit, I decided to bring it to the blog.

Not much to say about it really, just that is a black and white one. It’s that midterm outfit, when you can drop the black pants and trade them for a pair of fresh white ones, and, at the same time, still don’t want to ditch your leather comfy jacket that goes so well with everything.

The hat complements it, and keeps your hair from going frizzy with these Spring showers.

These photos were taken by the Santa Justa Elevator. A tourist attraction that local people don’t appreciate as much as they should. the view is incredible laying over our typical downtown. The small houses, the Rossio square and even São Jorge Castle!

Minimalist Coffee

Depois de ter voltado de Madrid e de ter estado em tantos cafés com giríssimos conceitos, excelente serviço e cafés deliciosos, quis continuar a minha aventura por Lisboa e experimentar um café deste género.

A escolha foi o Copenhagen Coffee Lab que já tinha visto no Street Food Festival no Estoril (confere AQUI) e tinha adorado a sua carrinha com um homem barbudo a servir cafés. Com esta imagem em mente, segui rumo para o seu novo espaço aberto na Praça das Flores, ao pé do Príncipe Real. 

De imediato, a decoração salta à vista: típica escandinava minimalista e de cores claras. O ambiente super moderno: com pessoas de todas as nacionalidades a trabalharem nos seus Macs e a beberem flat whites. Por momentos pensei já não estar em Lisboa... é um bom escape para qualquer tipo de dia.

A lista de cafés é extensa: desde cappuccinos, caffè latte, caffè mocha, dirty chai latte, filter coffee a muitos mais. E adorei ver os desenhos na lista para finalmente perceber a diferença entre o cappuccino e o flat white (está tudo nas proporções).

{Mas tenho de mencionar uma coisa, eu não gostei muito do sabor do café. Não sei se é pouco tostado, porque tem um sabor para o ácido... não tem aquele sabor suave de que estou habituada. Pode ser que este que usam seja mais forte. Se já lá foste, comenta em baixo o que achaste do sabor. Será que sou a única que pensa isto?}.

O bolo dinamarquês de canela foi uma viagem completamente sensorial, e o iogurte com muesli e compota estava delicioso.

Neste coffee lab, há de tudo para passar uma bela tarde.

After being back from Madrid and having experienced a whole new world of concept coffee houses with excellent service and delicious coffee, I decided to continue that journey in Lisbon.

[EN]: The chosen coffee house was Copenhagen Coffee Lab, which I had already spotted at Street Food Festival in Estoril (check it HERE) and had loved their blue van with a bearded man serving cups of cappuccino. With this in mind, I was drawn towards their new open space in Praça das Flores, near Príncipe Real.

Immediately, the decor stands out for being typical Scandinavian white and minimalist. The environment is really contemporary: with people from all around, speaking fluent english, working on their MacBooks and sipping on flat whites. For instances I thought that wasn't in Lisbon anymore... guess it's a nice escape for any kind of day.

The coffee list is extensive: from cappuccinos, caffè latte, caffè mocha, dirty chai latte, filter coffee to many more. And the infographic is really helpful to finally understand the difference between a cappuccino and flat white (it's all in the proportions).

{One thing, though, I should mention, I wasn't very fond of the taste of the coffee... don't know if they don't roast it enough, because it tastes a bit sharp... not the smooth flavor I'm used to, maybe they use a stronger batch of beans. If you have been there, tell me if you feel the same way}

The danish cinnamon roll was a huge sensorial throwback, and the yogurt with muesli and jam was really tasty!

In this coffee lab, there is everything to spend a nice afternoon.

OBSERVAÇÃO: Mas tenho de confessar, da primeira vez que lá fomos, muito entusiasmados por experimentar este sítio, fomos maltratados... Como éramos novos clientes, não sabíamos se nos podíamos sentar onde quiséssemos, se pedíamos ou pagávamos antes... e como nem um olá nos disseram à entrada (simpatia essa que estávamos tão bem habituados lá em Madrid), nem um "como posso ajudar-vos?", saímos de lá com as piores impressões. E atenção que estas eram Portuguesas.

No entanto, senti que este café tinha potencial, especialmente para estar aqui no blog, por isso, dei-lhe uma segunda oportunidade. E foi nesta segunda visita que tudo melhorou! Primeiro, fomos recebidos pela dona do espaço (presumo que seja a dona já que era loira, alta e tinha sotaque estrangeiro a falar inglês) e segundo, como o espaço era dela viu-se a diferença no serviço.

Sabia que tinha de dar esta segunda oportunidade.

RANT: But I must confess, the first time we went there, somewhat excited to try this place, we were badly treated... As we were new clients, we didn't know if we could sit down where ever we wanted to, nor if we should order or pay first... so we left there feeling mistreated.

But as I felt this place had the potential to be on my blog, I had to got back, and things were slightly different. The first time, the two coffee women were Portuguese and didn't even care to say hello when we walked in (such thing we were so used to in Madrid, the niceness you know?). Though second time around, and it's the owner there (I presume for being blonde, tall and having an accent while speaking English), and we were treated much differently.
Glad I gave it a second shot.
