1. Scooters are a thing. Not only if you're a kid on your way to the park, but also if you're an adult all suited up on your way to work.

5. The metro is the most useful transportation you'll find. Well, at least once you've figured it out. I suggest the PARIS METRO app. It calculates your route in seconds - truly a lifesaver.
6. If you're staying for a week or a month, I suggest you buy their NAVIGO pass to ride the metro as many times as you want. Although for a month is about €80, it's cheaper than buying individual tickets.
7. Most museums are free if you are: under the age of 26, a student and living in the EU.
8. Sellers at the most touristic places are very keen on imposing you to buy either a selfie stick or a small eiffel tower or a water. They'll just stick around you and lower the price till you either accept it out of annoyance or say no and walk away.
9. Riding the vélibs (bikes) in the main street is the most stressful thing ever (and dangerous)! So if you want to ride them, choose the streets out of the traffic. There you'll be able to explore the unknown parts of Paris calmly.
10. If you'll stay in Paris for a month and with a tight budget, be prepared to have your meals based on baguettes and crêpes! It might sound appealing at first, but in the end you'll be craving for a proper meal.
11. Talking about a proper meal... if you want to have one, don't go to the touristic places. And run from the places with menus in english, it's a trap. The food is poor and the price is stupidly high. So go inward the arrondissement and find something local.
12. If you are into running, join the club! Paris is filled with a lot of runners and fit people. Either in the afternoon or in a Sunday morning, head to your nearest park and run along this fit crowd.
13. L'heure d'ápero (aperitif time) is taken very seriously. Everyday, after work, you'll see all the cafés packed with people enjoying a glass of wine or beer and talking over a pack of cigarettes.
14. If you're a girl/woman, don't be too shocked if a french guy comes up to you and say you're beautiful. It's in their nature to be not discreet about their feelings. And french kiss is part of their game...
15. Many people may warn you about Paris being dangerous. But once you get to know your ways, you'll find it fine. Obviously, be careful when walking among big crowds and walking alone at night in streets where there is no light (which there aren't many).
16. Don't drink water or take pictures inside stores... but yes, your chien is very welcomed...
17. If a waiter sees you're a foreigner, he'll immediately speak to you in english. Even if you speak to him in french, he'll reply in english...
18. When coming back to the airport, after your stay, I truly recommend you booking a taxi through TAXIG7.FR site. Honestly, it's the fastest way to get a taxi on the minute or for the next day at a certain hour. And it's better than waiting half an hour for a cab to show up on your street and delaying your schedule.
19. The first days, a paper Paris map is gonna be really useful.
20. To truly feel like a Parisian, you cannot miss out on having a picnic on the Champs de Mars, with a bottle of wine, a baguette and cheese, and watch the sun set behind the Tour Eiffel. It's the most magical time!
21. Romance might be associated with couples that visit Paris, but the strong romance you'll have is with yourself and the city. Especially when walking alone and soaking in all the best Paris has to offer.
22. Paris is not only French, everywhere you'll turn, you'll see thousands of Asian people. It gets quite full.

25. Not all metro wagons are the same. The newest ones, by the most famous department stores, are big, cozy and the doors open automatically. But the ones by the residential areas are old and you have to pull the handle up to get in or out.

28. There are a lot of homeless people in the streets. Many with a piece of carton saying they don't have a job, and even hoping on the metro and saying their "speech" in order to get either restaurant tickets or some money. And a lot of Romanian girls laying on the floor with a Starbucks cup...

2. O café é caro e horrível.
3. O tempo em Paris parece sofrer de bipolaridade... No mesmo dia pode estar sol e, logo a seguir, começar a chover.
4. Bifes nas brasseries não são de todo aqueles tenros e saborosos que conhecemos.
5. O metro é o meio transporte que dá mais jeito para chegar a qualquer ponto nesta grande cidade. Pelo menos até se perceber as linhas e mudas de estação. Sugiro a app PARIS METRO. É ótima, porque calcula o percurso em segundos - uma salva-vidas.
6. Se ficares por uma semana ou um mês, sugiro comprares o NAVIGO pass para poderes andar de um lado para o outro as vezes que quiseres. Apesar de para um mês custar €80, sai mais barato do que comprar bilhetes individuais.

8. Não te surpreendas se, nos pontos turísticos, selfie sticks, pequenas torres eiffel ou água te for imposta mesmo na tua cara. Normalmente estes vendedores só se vão embora quando conseguem fazer o seu negócio, mesmo baixando muito o preço inicial, ou quando tu foges ou dizes, firmemente, que não queres.
9. Andar de vélibs (bicicletas) nas ruas pode ser bastante stressante (e até perigoso). Mas se se andar nas ruelas sem muito movimento, é uma maneira giríssima de se descobrir os recantos não explorados de Paris.
10. Se ficares em Paris durante um mês com um orçamento apertado, prepara-te para as tuas refeições se basearem em baguettes e crêpes! Pode parecer ótimo das primeiras vezes, mas no final vais desejar por uma refeição a sério.
11. Por falar em refeições a sério... se queres ter uma, não comas ao pé das atrações turísticas. E foge dos restaurantes com menus em várias línguas, aí a comida é horrível e o preço é super inflacionado. Mais vale andares mais para dentro do arrondissement e comer algo mesmo local.
12. Se és um dos loucos por corrida, junta-te ao clube! Paris está cheio de corredores e pessoas em forma. Quer seja à tarde ou num Domingo de manhã, segue para um parque mais próximo de ti e corre ao pé desta multidão saudável.
13. L'heure d'ápero (hora do aperitivo) é levada muito a sério. Todos os dias, a seguir ao trabalho, vais ver todos os cafés cheio de pessoas a beber um copo de vinho ou cerveja e a falar sobre tudo e sobre nada (e claro, sempre fumando o seus cigarinho).
14. Se és uma rapariga/mulher, não te choques se um rapaz francês vier ter contigo e disser que és muito bonita. Está na natureza deles o não ser discreto sobre os seus sentimentos. E o french kiss faz parte do seu jogo...
15. Muitas pessoas vão avisar-te sobre Paris ser uma cidade um pouco perigosa. Mas uma vez que conheças os teus caminhos, vais ver que é uma cidade como qualquer outra europeia. Claro que se deve ter sempre em conta os carteiristas em grandes multidões e de ruas sem iluminação à noite.
16. É proibido beber água ou tirar fotografias em lojas... mas sim, o seu chien é muito bem-vindo...
17. Se um empregado de mesa vir que és estrangeiro/a, ele vai falar contigo imediatamente inglês contigo. Mesmo que lhe respondas em francês, ele vai responder-te em inglês...
18. Quando fores para o aeroporto, eu recomendo reservares um taxi pelo site TAXIG7.FR. Sinceramente, é a maneira mais rápida de se ter um taxi a horas ou para uma certa hora num dia específico. E tira todo o stress que se teria se se tivesse de chamar um na rua e correr o risco de nenhum passar por lá.
19. Nos primeiros dias, um mapa de papel vai ser bastante útil.
20. Para se sentir verdadeiramente parisiense, não se pode perder fazer um picnic no Champs de Mars, com uma garrafa de vinho, uma baguette e um queijo, e ver o sol se pôr mesmo por detrás da magnífica Torre Eiffel. É uma hora mágica!
21. Romance pode estar associado aos casais que vão passar a lua-de-mel a Paris, mas o romance mais forte é aquele que se tem com a cidade. Especialmente quando se passeia sozinho e se absorve tudo de bom que Paris tem para oferecer.
22. Paris não é só francês, para todo o lado que olhas, verás milhares de Asiáticos.
23. O melhor lugar para se deliciar com um macaron é, definitivamente, Ladurée.
24. E o melhor lugar para se comer éclairs é no Éclair de Génie.
25. Nem todas as carruagens do metro são iguais. As mais recentes, perto das grandes armazéns, são grandes, confortáveis e as portas abrem-se automaticamente. Mas as que passam por zonas mais residenciais, são antigas e tem de se puxar a manivela para cima para as portas se abrirem.

27. Paris pode ser a Capital da Moda, mas isso não significa que toda a gente se vista de acordo com as últimas tendências.
28. Há muitos vagabundos nas ruas. Muitos com um pedaço de cartão dizendo que não têm emprego, ou até entrando no metro e começar a proclamar o seu discurso ensaiado para receber ou moedas ou bilhetes para restaurantes. Também se vê muitas miúdas romenas deitadas à porta das lojas de luxo a pedir moedas com copos do Starbucks...
29. Croque Monsieur é basicamente uma tosta de queijo e fiambre...
30. As batatas fritas do McDonalds são tão boas! Experimenta as fatias de batata... yum!
31. Se não queres ser olhado de lado, fica o lado direito e sobre no lado esquerdo das escadas rolantes.
32. Parisienses reciclam, mas misturam o plástico e o papel.
