Vintage vibes

[EN]: No, I was NOT in San Francisco... sadly... but the 25th of April bridge here in Lisbon can really reminisce the Golden Gate Bridge in that American land. This Portuguese version connects Lisbon to Almada crossing the famous Tagus river. The view from Almada is the greatest, because we get to see our lovely town from the other side and fall in love with it all over again.

| And actually you can go up there and see it all from the above, but that day it was closed...
Agora indo para o outro outro lado | Now driving to the other other side

I wanted to feature this camel suede jacket that fits me so well, and, actually, was my DAD'S! Can you imagine? It's so comfy and dressy that I had to try it on... and got completely in love! What do you think?

Old Habits

O blog está quase a fazer 1 ano! YAY!

[EN]: The blog is fast approaching its first year of existence! YAY! And looking back to its first month, it was all about smoothies (you can check it HERE and see what I'm talking about)!
As time went by, my interests drifted from smoothies to restaurant reviews and, more recently, to my beauty discoveries.
But, honestly, once you drink a smoothie you don't want ever to go back! The joy of mixing fruits and veggies together and seeing the magic of one color forming is the greatest! And even better when it tastes good (don't put lettuce and frozen mango together... just don't)!

So as an homage to its almost anniversary, I thought of bringing a classic here to the blog! Comment down below after trying it! :)

Take me back to the 90's

First of all, I must prompt you to the fact that the years I lived through the 90's were, indeed, my first 5, so I was not at all aware of the trends back then, specially fashion trends (but I had a tamagoshi!)

Fast forward to 2015 and the brown lip is back (apparently), and is first seen on Gigi Hadid's perfect plumped lips. And adding this to my faux-obsession to the Mac lipsticks - and I refer to it as faux since it's merely the image conveyed by beauty guru that these are top products, not the fact that I have tons of their products that makes me more obsessed, which it's not the case either - I felt the desperate need to find my own brown lipstick.
All that added up to the excitement, because, not only, I was purchasing my FIRST EVER mac lipstick, in their original packaging (or the tampon package, as I like to call it), but also I was getting this color that I had never thought of owning.

I choose it, mainly, because I felt I have enough of the mainstream colors already, and I needed a new hue to give my small, but considerable good collection of lipsticks a fresh look.

Therefore, the chosen one was the matte WHIRL. It's a soft brown with rose undertones, so it looks very natural on the lips. It's my version of a nude lipstick, one that doesn't cancel out my natural pigment and doesn't blend in weirdly with my face tone. It rather gives it an elegant touch to the whole look and stands out for its discreteness.
Although it is matte, its texture is really creamy and doesn't dry out the lips. It stays on for quite a long time, but it isn't food-proof, as some matte liquid lipstick are.
Anyway, it was worth the €20 or less that it costed, and now I want to make it my signature lipstick. Should I?

Coffee is always a good idea

This Russian-owned café with an international atmosphere offering craft beer and amazing cappuccino, was certainly a divine calling (or a suggestion on Zomato) for me to try it that day.
It kinda feels out of place, out of Lisbon, for its welcoming staff and cozy attributes. You can be either working and delighting yourself over the best chicken curry sandwich inside or sipping on a cappuccino and croissant on the outside, either way you'll fell happy for the rest of the day.

And yes, I went back!

E sim, tive de voltar!

Sea Therapy

If you live by the ocean, you know how weird it is living in a land without water. You always get the feeling that something is missing... And that's why, a few days after we arrived in Lisbon, we drove straight to one of our favorite beaches - Carcavelos Beach - to inhale the saltiness of the sea and to step on the 'holy' sand. It felt invigorating!
